Karachi, Pakistan – Khurram Shahzad, President of the Asian Business Forum, has condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Karachi that resulted in the tragic loss of lives among Chinese engineers and Pakistani security personnel. This attack not only represents a heinous act of violence but also poses a significant threat to the stability and security of foreign investments in Pakistan.

In a statement, Shahzad expressed deep sorrow over the incident, emphasizing that such acts of terrorism undermine the hard-earned progress in fostering international partnerships. “The safety of foreign investors and their personnel is paramount for Pakistan’s economic development. We must ensure a secure environment to attract and retain investment,” he stated.

Shahzad highlighted the potential repercussions of this attack on upcoming international engagements, particularly the Shanghai Conference in Islamabad, which is crucial for regional cooperation and economic collaboration. “We must work diligently to restore confidence among foreign investors who are vital to our economic growth,” he added.

He urged the Pakistani government to take immediate and effective measures to enhance security protocols for foreign nationals and businesses operating within the country. “It is essential to provide a safe and conducive environment for investment, as peace and stability are the cornerstones of economic progress,” Shahzad asserted.

The Asian Business Forum calls for a united front against terrorism and emphasizes the need for robust action to bring those responsible for this attack to justice. “We stand in solidarity with the victims and their families, and we reaffirm our commitment to promoting a secure and prosperous Pakistan for all,” Shahzad concluded.
